This rose comes from the Loire Valley and is a blend of Grolleau Noir with Gamay and Merlot. While little known in the US, Grolleau Noir is actually the third most planted red variety in the Loire Valley, France, almost all of which is used for the production of rose. The flavor is reminiscent of a Rose d'Anjou--loads of ripe strawberry, raspberry and cherry fruit--but in a wine that is dry. Refreshing and crisp, the fruit forwardness of this lovely rose will feel soft like the peachy passion of transition into spring to summer to fall.
