The family history of Casa Bauza began with the discovery of fertile land in 1903, and an understanding of the delicate balance between winemaking technique and the needs of different varietals from the unique terrroir of Chile.

Carménère is a great blending grape, but special is the producer who can harness its strengths as a stand alone wine. Abundant raspberry and cherry nuances join floral notes like violet petals, together with black pepper and liquorice in a very fresh aromatic expression.

The Carménère manages to merge its spicy initial notes with the smoky tobacco leaf notes which come from the oak barrels and foudres in which it is kept, along with graphite and mineral notes, a classic hallmark from this vineyard in Northern Maipo's wine region.

Consistent with its aromatic preview, ‘Presumido’ combines great character with silken structure, as well as medium body, and sweet, round tannins which define the persistent and pleasurable finish. Bauza’s winemaker, Natalia Poblete, Chile’s Young Winemaker of the Year in 2018.
