2018 Brut Pinot Sekt, Rüdesheim
The 5th Generation family owned Winery in the famous Rheingau region is the only winery in Germany to be twice awarded, "Rising Star of the Year". Carl and his wife, Petra produce a top-class Pinot Noir Sekt "sparkling" as “Blanc de Noirs” from Rheingau, Rüdesheim.
This Sekt Pinot Noir, also known as Spätburgunder, from the individual vineyards of Bischofsberg and Kirchenpfad exhibit a dry, elegant sparkling wine with lively tiny bubbles, bright orchard fruit and mineral flavors, balance its clean acidity and a long finish.
The grapes are picked early to maintain the playful, refreshing acidity of Pinot Noir and avoid excessive alcohol. After fermentation in stainless steel tanks, the base wine is aged in the neutral 225L barrels to enhance texture and add body. The final sparkling wine is obtained by the Charmat method.
