Easy Cheesy Baked Hamburger Sliders

It's Super Bowl Sunday. 🏈

Since the Commanders are not playing it's another Sunday as far as I am concern. (yes, you detect sour grapes 🍇)

Nevertheless, Super Bowl Sunday is a great excuse to eat food your cardiologist would not approve.

I found this cool hamburger sliders recipe created by Jawns Cooked.  You can prepare this recipe in less than 40 minutes.

You can substitute lean ground turkey or chicken.

Ingredients:

Burger Ingredients
1 lb lean ground beef , (85/15  or leaner)
1 small onion, grated
1 packet onion soup mix  , (such as Lipton)
2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 12 ct package Hawaiian slider rolls
½ tablespoon everything bagel seasoning
4 tablespoon melted butter
2 cloves minced garlic
6 slices Colby jack cheese
1 cup grated sharp cheddar cheese

Alternative: Ground Turkey or Chicken

Burger Sauce:
½ cup mayonnaise
1 tablespoon pickle relish
2 tablespoon ketchup
1 teaspoon yellow mustard
1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
1 teaspoon garlic powder
  1. Cut rolls in half, separating tops and bottoms. Place on a cookie sheet, and place under oven’s broiler on high for 1-3 minutes, until lightly toasted. Place sliced Colby cheese on bottom buns, and set aside. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
    2. In a large mixing bowl, mix beef with onion soup mix, grated onion, and soup packet until just combined.
    3. In a medium/large frying pan or cast iron skillet over medium-high heat, spread meat in an even layer, and brown the beef for 3-4 minutes undisturbed, then flip and cook utill brown, breaking up into small pieces as you go, about 4 minutes more.
    4. Add Worcestershire sauce and cook 2 minutes, stirring well.
    5. Transfer cooked meat evenly over Colby cheese and bottom buns, using a slotted spoon leaving any grease and liquid behind.
    6. Top burger mixture with grated cheddar, and place on top bun layer.
    7. Mix garlic and butter together, and brush top buns with melted butter garlic mixture. Sprinkle with everything bagel seasoning.
    8. Bake in preheated oven on parchment lined sheet for 15-20 minutes, until just toasty and cheese is melted.
    9. Mix dip together while they bake.
    10. Slice and serve with burger sauce.
