This is a great wine for anyone just beginning to drink red wines, but also fits the bill for any big red wine drinker who is looking for something a little lighter on warm days.
A classic, soft-styled red table wine, light-bodied with aromas of red plum, cranberry cocktail, strawberry jam, lavender, violet floral nuances carry through to elements of charred wood an cedar. Ample acidity and a mid-weight body on the palate, layered with essence of ripe cherry and a sublte pinch of cocoa powder. A easy mouthfeel and a long, pleasant finish reveal a classic Virginia red table wine that goes well with anything and can stand all on its own as well.
Rosemont is located just near the Virginia and North Carolina border, right beside beautiful Lake Gaston. The 450 acres that make up the Rosemont Estate has been in the Rose Family since 1858, with the home place actually dating back to the mid-1700s. Over generations, our farming operations have included vegetable farming, a peach orchard, beef cattle, dairy farming, and commodity crops such as hay, tobacco, corn, and soybeans.
Chandra and Stephan Rose and their son Justin as the winemaker, continually oversee the winery and operations today. A hands on, owner to bottle, family tradition approach has been the way for the past 165 years.
