Based in Maryland and sourcing from the Mid-Atlantic region, the 2022 Imperial 94 Cabernet Sauvignon is a limited-production, boutique wine designed to offer a luxurious experience. It typically presents a bold yet accessible profile, featuring rich aromas of dark fruits such as blackberry and black cherry, often complemented by hints of well-rounded oak, chocolate, and subtle spice. The palate is generally smooth, balancing structured tannins with, in many Mid-Atlantic versions, a slightly more herbaceous undertone compared to warmer California counterparts.
Imperial 94 is a boutique, Maryland-based luxury wine brand launched in 2022 by Brian Kelley, who serves as the lead operator and identifies as one of the youngest winery owners on the East Coast. Kelley, along with partners Jamaal Dubose and Tre Henderson, created the brand to offer a "luxury lifestyle" experience, with the name "Imperial 94" paying homage to their birth year, 1994. While they do not own their own vineyards, Imperial 94 wines are produced using grapes sourced exclusively from vineyards within the Mid-Atlantic region. Focused on limited production, lifestyle wines rather than a traditional winery, they complete production of their wines in Prince Georges County, Maryland.
