Soul Mega Metropolis IPA is a smooth, well-balanced American IPA brewed in Washington, D.C. It’s a thoughtful blend that nods to the crisp bitterness of West Coast IPAs while honoring the malt-forward character of Midwest and East Coast styles. At 6% ABV, it delivers approachable strength with vibrant notes of apricot and citrus, making it both refreshing and flavorful.

Soul Mega, Washington, DC’s second-oldest Black-owned beer company, has unveiled its latest creation, Metropolis IPA, marking a significant addition to its core lineup. This beer is the company’s first India Pale Ale and showcases the innovative spirit and brewing expertise that have propelled Soul Mega into the spotlight since its founding in 2018. Metropolis IPA is a well-balanced, clean American IPA crafted with Centennial and Mosaic hops, offering a flavor profile of apricot, stone fruit, and a citrusy aroma. At 6% ABV, it bridges the bold characteristics of West Coast IPAs with the malt-forward essence of the Midwest and East Coast traditions. The vibrant label for Metropolis IPA is the work of renowned DC mural artist Juan “Criomatic” Pineda, whose urban-contemporary style reflects the beer’s dynamic identity. Pineda’s work has become synonymous with cultural storytelling in the region, adding depth and artistry to this latest release. Soul Mega co-founders Elliott Johnson and Jahi Reid, who transitioned from homebrewing enthusiasts to commercial brewers in 2019, have built their brand around a commitment to inclusion, creativity, and community impact. Their dedication to making craft beer accessible and engaging, especially for communities often overlooked in the craft beer scene, has garnered a loyal following and significant growth in production over the years. -wibridgedc.com

Direct from owners, Elliott Johnson and Jahi Reid - "Soul Mega began with a shared curiosity. The belief that beer could spark connection and elevate culture. Elliott and Jahi spent years experimenting with brewing, turning water, malt, hops, and yeast into moments of presence and community.

What started with pouring for friends and neighbors grew into pop-ups, then into Soul Mega’s 2018 incorporation and commercial launch in 2019. From day one, the mission has been bigger than beer. We create craft-beer experiences that feel expressive, inclusive, and rooted in culture. Especially for communities of color long left out of the craft-beer world. Soul Mega isn’t just what’s in the can. It’s a catalyst for greatness, connection, and the shared experience of rising together."
