Silver Myn wines are produced at Zorgvliet Estate in the Banghoek Valley, a small and dramatically beautiful subregion of Stellenbosch tucked into the mountains 4 miles from the town center. The estate name — Zorgvliet, pronounced Sorg-fleet — is Afrikaans for “no worries,” a name that captures both the ethos of the estate and the spirit of the wine. Grapes are grown on the dangerously steep slopes of Simonsberg Mountain, in vineyards that are among the highest in all of Stellenbosch. The terrain is challenging enough that leopards still roam the mountain above the vineyards — a detail that tells you everything about how remote, wild, and genuinely special this growing site is.
