Deep purplish, with different shades of red. It has a balance between aromas typical of the varietal, such as violets and red fruits. Amalgamated with notes of coffee and tobacco, from its aging in barrels. A wine of excellent complexity, round and silky mouthfeel; of a substantial structure of vigorous tannins and a balanced acidity. It has a delicate and expressive finish in mouth that leaves us with a flavor of vanilla, mocha and chocolate.
100% Malbec. Aged 18-24 months in oak and stainless steel tanks.
Family, Wine and Passion.
La Iride is a family business inspired by their grandmother, “la nonna” Iride Papotti. As they tell it, she and our grandfather, Gino, instilled in us a love for the cultivation and care of grapevines.
From at least the beginning of the 19th century, our ancestors in Italy made wine for their own consumption, using methods that were passed along—and refined—from generation to generation.
When Iride and Gino emigrated to Argentina, they chose Mendoza, the most important wine-making region in the country, as their destination.
For years their children designed and manufactured wine-making machinery and stainless steel fermentation-and-storage tanks for rental or sale.
Finally, relying on the family’s knowledge and trajectory, we decided to create our own winery.
