2021 Dogwood & Thistle Testa Vineyard Carignan Mendocino, CA

Dogwood & Thistle is a family microwinery based in Mendocino, California. They are known for their highly-rated, single-vineyard Carignan. Typically used in France's Rhone Valley as a blending grape, Carignan is almost never bottled alone. But exceptional climate, circumstances, and winemaking cultivate a gorgeously fruit-forward, peppery style that’s perfect with pizza, pasta, and all your favorite weeknight dinners! 

Vibrant, rich red fruits dance on the nose and palate with notes of red raspberry, red cherry, white strawberry and tart red plum. It's the lightness and brightness of the fruit that give this wine an undeniable vivacity. Earthier tones of fresh and dried roses, wet rock and toasted wood add depth and complexity, while grippy tannins endure from start to finish. 

Their 2021 vintage received an impressive 90 Points in Wine Enthusiast magazine.
