The 2022 Château du Rosaire is a medium-bodied, well-balanced Bordeaux red blend, featuring a refined, fruity profile with notes of black cherry, plum, and cocoa, accented by subtle French oak spices. It boasts a silky texture with velvety, polished tannins, good tension, and a lively, juicy mid-palate that finishes with sustained freshness. This approachable, round red offers great depth and value, showcasing the quality of the 2022 vintage.
Château du Rosaire is a prominent 14-hectare estate in the Lalande-de-Pomerol appellation of Bordeaux, notably part of the personal holdings of the de Boüard family. The property is managed by Hubert de Boüard, the world-renowned owner of Château Angélus and a student of the legendary oenologist Emile Peynaud. Under de Boüard’s direction, the estate integrates the same technical precision as his top-tier Saint-Émilion properties, emphasizing a "pleasure-giving" winemaking signature that balances traditional craftsmanship with modern efficiency. The estate’s terroir serves as a natural extension of the neighboring Pomerol plateau, featuring a rich mosaic of clay-limestone, sandy clay with iron oxide, and gravel-clay soils. This diverse foundation supports a vineyard composition typically split between Merlot and Cabernet Franc, with older vines averaging 36 years contributing to the wine's depth.
