In the Cote de Brouilly, a traditional Beaujolais is made unlike your senses have ever enjoyed!
This is a very old school Beaujolais in the best sense:
A beautiful garnet color, beguiling aromatics, and a burst of refreshment in the mouth. That burst is a savory, mineral, toothsome thing because of the domain’s high elevations and because of Mont Brouilly’s blue granite soil. Some Crus emphasize soil notes, others give fruit, but only good Côte de Brouilly gives stone in the flavor.
Planted by the Romans over and ancient volcano, Mont Brouilly is a historical land.
The summit of the mountain that was part at the time, of the "Domaine du Pavillon de Chavannes", is overlooked by the Notre de Dame de Brouilly Chapel. It was built in memory of the victory of the Beaujolais peasants against the oïdium disease in 1852.T
The Domain is today is still family owned and managed by its great-grandchildren after Chavannes was sold to Pierre Jambon-Chanrion in 1861.
