Bodega Garzón is the first winery outside North America to receive LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification for its facilities.

Bodega Garzón, located near Punta del Este in Maldonado, Uruguay, is a premier, sustainable, and architecturally acclaimed winery founded in 2007 by Alejandro Bulgheroni. It is renowned for producing high-quality, Atlantic-influenced wines, particularly Tannat and Albariño. The geology of the region is known as the Crystalline Basement - it gave rise to some of the oldest soils on the planet, over 2.5 Billion years ago. After much weathering these rock formations are what we know as Ballast soil, and this is where Garzon grapes grow, adding a distinct minerality, depth and structure to the varietal characteristics.
As it sits off the coastline, the vineyards experience consistent maritime breezes, which reduce disease pressure and keep grapes healthy.

They are a leader in their region for the industry, traditional yet innovative and consistently representative of the areas best wine production.
