Family, Wine and Passion.
La Iride is a family business inspired by their grandmother, “la nonna” Iride Papotti. As they tell it;
She and our grandfather, Gino, instilled in us a love for the cultivation and care of grapevines.
From at least as far back as the beginning of the 19th century, our ancestors in Italy made wine for their own consumption, using methods that were passed along —and refined— from generation to generation.
When Iride and Gino emigrated to Argentina, they chose Mendoza, the most important wine-making region in the country, as their destination.
For years their children designed and manufactured wine-making machinery and stainless steel fermentation-and-storage tanks for rental or sale.
Finally, relying on the family’s knowledge and trajectory, we decided to create our own winery.
