A great year round seasonal refreshment, here comes this bright, zesty Albariño that exhibits the grape’s characteristic, wonderful combination of aromatic, tropical perfume, ripe fruit, and racy acidity. Fresh pear and hard apple fruit, with a clean mineral quality. The fruit is really good on the palate, with lots of freshness and lots of nectarine and peach hints of sweetness, but with a fine, racy backbone of acidity and terrific freshness and length.

An authentic farm Albariño. From Manuel Mendez’s single vineyard in the Condado do Tea district of Rias Baixas. This Albariño takes its name from the idea that it came from Germany (hence Alba-Riño, “white of the Rhein”), but we now know the grape to be native to this stretch of northwestern Iberia. The Vineyard was planted in 2002 after two years of collecting more than 200 small farms plot by plot and more than 70 different owners; a clear reflection of the Galician “smallholding”. The chosen cultivation is Albariño trellis cultivation for more airy, sun-kissed and less acidic grapes than those obtained with other methods such as trained vines.

Serving Suggestions: Shrimp tempura & pineapple sushi rolls topped w/ lightly seared yellowfin tuna. Goat cheese w/ toasted rye or sourdough bread & dill. Seafood paella or pizza.
