Pale straw with delicate green reflections, this Riesling opens with lifted aromas of lime blossom, green apple, white peach, and citrus zest layered with classic Mosel slate minerality. The palate is vibrant and finely balanced, combining juicy orchard fruit with bright acidity and a gentle touch of sweetness typical of Kabinett style. Flavors of lemon, pear, and white flowers glide across a light, elegant texture before finishing crisp and refreshing with lingering citrus and wet-stone minerality that reflects the steep slate slopes of the Zeltinger Schlossberg vineyard.
The wine is produced by Sarah Gessinger, the 10th-generation winemaker and owner of the historic Weingut Gessinger in the Mosel region. She officially assumed leadership of the family estate while continuing to work alongside her father, Alfred (Albert) Gessinger, maintaining a winemaking tradition that dates back to 1680. Managing the estate’s approximately 3.2 hectares of vineyards in the Zeltingen area, Sarah focuses on producing precise, slate-driven Rieslings that reflect Mosel terroir. Her talent has been widely recognized, including being named “Beste Winzerin edelsüße Weine” (Best Winemaker for Noble Sweet Wines) in 2020, highlighting her skill in crafting elegant sweet and off-dry Rieslings that preserve the classic style of the region.
