Perfumed, fresh, and addictively drinkable, it delivers pure red-cherry character with the cooling slate minerality and delicate structure that define the Mosel’s cool-climate style. From a Black-owned, woman-owned, third-generation family winery with over a century of tradition, this is a bottle that is as meaningful as it is delicious.
Wine Details & Tasting Notes
Tasting Notes: Bright magenta in color. Perfumed and fresh with pure, pristine red-cherry notes from start to finish, accented by cooling tones of crushed slate, wild mint, and rose petal. Juicy and fruit-driven with delicate tannins and a buoyant, addictively drinkable character. Drinks beautifully young and should hold well through 2030 at least. Vinified three weeks in open fermenters with 50% stem inclusion, then matured briefly in used Burgundy barrels. Bottled unfiltered.

The delicate tannins, bright acidity, and pure red fruit of this Mosel Pinot Noir make it one of the most food-friendly reds you can pour. Pairs beautifully with roasted duck, grilled salmon, and herb-roasted chicken. The slate minerality and rose petal notes make it a wonderful companion for mushroom dishes, truffle pasta, and charcuterie. Also excellent alongside soft cheeses, pinot-friendly cheeseboards, and light pasta dishes. Serve slightly cool at 55–60°F to preserve the delicate aromatics and fresh fruit character.

Wine Producer / Historical Notes
Steinmetz is a third-generation, Black-owned, woman-owned family winery in Brauneberg, in the heart of the Mosel-Saar-Ruwer. Sammie and Stefan Steinmetz continue a tradition their family started over a hundred years ago, bringing together heritage, innovation, and craft in every bottle. The winery practices natural viticulture — no fertilizers, herbicides, or insecticides — with controlled yields and careful hand-harvesting and sorting. Steinmetz has focused on acquiring plots of old, own-rooted parcels across prestigious sites including the Brauneberger Juffer, Kestener Paulinshofberg, Piesporter Goldtropfchen, Wintricher Geierslay, and Dhroner Hofberg. The extremely steep slopes of these sites can only be worked by hand — a testament to the family’s unwavering commitment to quality and authenticity.
