Beaujolais is a region in France and consists of multiple Villages and CRU wine designations within. In Beaulolais, the Beaujolais-Villages AOC area is located to the south, close to Lyon. The terroir is mainly composed of granite and this gives a distinct and specific character trait to all the wines from this AOC 

The Beaujolais red wines are made from Gamay grape. Beaujolais is a general region, and if designated Beaujolais-Villages AOC, this is indicating a more specific growing area within the general Beaujolais region, hence the AOC (Appellation Origine Controlle), due to distinct terroir, as one example. The Beaujolais-Villages AOC vs. just Beaujolais on the label denotes wines of greater structure and a more in depth flavor profile in comparison.

This wine displays plays a strong red/purple hue. Fresh red fruits on the nose with a hint of dark cherry. Slightly spicy with a touch of grey pepper, licorice and a touch of rose flower and subtle violet. The whole wine is very well balanced with a nice acidity and the tannins presence on the finish invites food pairing such as with Terrines, Charcuteries, Grilled red meat, white fish, cheese or simply as the sole wine of a meal.

This wine is supposed to be drunk young although it can be kept easily up to 5 years or more.
