If you love Italian wine or you delight in Sangiovese, we have a special sip of juice for you!

Very, very drinkable and appropriate for moderate cellaring. The Bindi Sergardi Achille Toscana Rosso IGT is a blend of Sangiovese 90% and Merlot 10%. An intense ruby red colour, this wine has a round bouquet of mature red fruits, like cherries and blackberries. It is very fresh and luscious, with a slight sweetness in the mouth and a soft texture making it very easy to drink, but full of supple texture. With a long delicious finish, a hint of earth and subtle spices, this is a wine to savour.

Bindi Sergardi is a family business, which has remained under the same ownership since 1400, which extends over the Sienese hills for just over a thousand hectares divided into four estates managed today by Nicolò Casini and his daughter Alessandra Casini Bindi Sergardi. Two generations who have emphasized, in the midst of other crops, the production of quality wine by virtue of constant attention to the territory and the way to faithfully interpret its characteristics.

The Bindi Sergardi family owns 3 estates and has founding history in Tuscany. I Colli estate , from which the Achille IGT comes, is located in the northern part of the province of Siena, in the townships of Monteriggioni and Vagliagli. I Colli estate represents the history and soul of the 23 generations of the Bindi Sergardi family, which built this hamlet at the end of the 1400s.

To clarify the IGT "Super Tuscan" reference for wine; basically "super tuscan" is term, unofficially used to describe red wines from a specific IGT [Indicazione Geografica Tipica] appellation, that of Toscana or Tuscany, which may or may not include non-indigineous grape varietals such as Syrah, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. The term "super tuscan" was coined in the 80's as a way to designate a difference in a red wine within the Tuscan region which was a blend of the primary grape (Sangiovese) and another not indigineous to Italy, like, Merlot, Cab Sauv or Syrah, from other Tuscan wines such as in Chianti (purely Sangiovese). Eventually, the legal system which oversees the wine classifications in Italy agreed to give "super tuscans" their own designation of IGT [Indicazione Geografica Tipica] to clarify a wine of superior quality, specifically from Tuscany, if it met the specifications.
