2019 Sussurri Chianti Classico Riserva D.O.C.G

The lively ruby red color with garnet reflections sparkle like jewels in the glass. Leading you inward to fill your senses with intense, complex aromas of violet, cherry blossoms merged with ripe red fruits and subtle cedary spice notes. The palate presents a soft mouth-feel with a touch of grip rounding out flavors of huckleberry jam, lavender and cocoa powder as it leads to further layers with candied orange peel and a nutty hint of oak. This is a medium to full-bodied red, harmonious, with a good structure of tannins and persistent finish. A bold expression of Sangiovese blended that is tailored-made for the New World red drinker.

Made from the best grapes in the Chianti Classico region and produced to the most stringent production codes. Chianti Classico Riserva wines are aged longer than any other class of Chianti. A minimum of two years on oak and three months in the bottle. Not surprisingly, they are richer, more complex, and higher in tannins. Because of the alcohol level required of Chianti Classico Riservas, they are often more age-worthy than Chianti Classico non-riservas.
