A play on "Orange is the New Black" This is a 'new orange' wine from a black celebrity sommelier turned winemaker. "Northwest Edelzwicker" which refers to a blend of white noble varietals made in Alsace, France, but this time with 22 days' skin contact all co-fermented together in a casual field blend. A fuller bodied amber wine with punch-you-in-the-face aromatics of ripe nectarine, apricot, and honeysuckle, mouthwatering lift, and a dense, satisfying core of himalayan sea salt. 50% Gewurztraminer, 28% Pinot Gris, 12% Riesling, 5% Muscat, and 5% Pinot Blanc.
With Pinot Gris with extended skin contact, the 2022 vintage has a dark pink hue akin to an Italian Rosato.
