Beaujolais is a region in France and consists of multiple Villages and CRU wine designations within. In Beaulolais, the Beaujolais-Villages AOC area is located to the south, close to Lyon. The terroir is mainly composed of granite and this gives a distinct and specific character trait to all the wines from this AOC

The Beaujolais red wines are made from Gamay grape. Beaujolais is a general region, and if designated Beaujolais-Villages AOC, this is indicating a more specific growing area within the general Beaujolais region, hence the AOC (Appellation Origine Controlle), due to distinct terroir, as one example. The Beaujolais-Villages AOC vs. just Beaujolais on the label denotes wines of greater structure and a more in depth flavor profile in comparison.

This wine displays plays a strong red/purple hue. Fresh red fruits on the nose with a hint of dark cherry. Slightly spicy with a touch of grey pepper, licorice and a touch of rose flower and subtle violet. The whole wine is very well balanced with a nice acidity and the tannins presence on the finish invites food pairing such as with Terrines, Charcuteries, Grilled red meat, white fish, cheese or simply as the sole wine of a meal.

This wine is supposed to be drunk young although it can be kept easily up to 5 years or more.

Louis Jadot accords equal importance to each of Burgundy’s appellations, from Grand Crus right through to regional wines. Their aim is to express the true nature of Burgundy through their wines, a terroir that can be both proud of its past and optimistic about its future. In order to produce wines that celebrate their terroir, Frederic Barnier works with a team: Cyril and Audrey. Together they have a large part to play in determining the success of Jadot's enterprise. Each influences the creation of Jadot wines with their own particular set of skills, whether technical or commercial, thereby ensuring that the Maison has a bright future ahead of it.
