2022 Clementine Carter Grenache Blanc, Central Coast, Santa Barbara County, CA
Grenache Blanc with carbonic skin-contact and concrete egg fermentation. Vibrant herbal notes, white flowers and sun-kissed golden apples.
As described by the producer - this wine takes me to the middle of a massive field of sunflowers at high noon in the Macedonian countryside and everything is ascendant. Hypnotized by the gilded vibration, a slight breeze puffs past and all petals gently flutter in unison. It’s all lost in translation and feels absolute for one fleeting moment softly enraptured in the wind.
Apple and pear-flesh aromas meet with a warm, fruity apricot note on the nose of this bottling. Ample acidity and a firm texture frame blanched almond, nectarine and citrus flavors on the palate.
Tres Hermanas vineyard, organic, dry farmed. Fermentated in concrete egg. Kimsey vineyard, organic, located in Ballard Canyon. Fermented carbonically on its skins in stainless steel for 14 days, cool and calm to preserve aromatics and ampflify texture.
