Live Wine Tasting with Christina Callahan - Local Sauvignon Blanc and South African Cabernet Sauvignon

It's Wednesday, so it must be Wine Lovers Wednesday. Christina and I are wine tasting. We are trying Maryland's The Vineyards at Dodon Sauvignon Blanc and Braai Wines Cabernet Sauvignon.

Dodon vineyard is located 20 minutes outside the Washington, DC in Davidsonville, MD. Dodon is a 555 acre working family farm, the largest in Anne Arundel County. The farm has been in Polly Pittam's, Dodon's co-owner, family for nine generations. Dodon practice clean biodynamic farm.  They describe their wines as "technically good wines–those that are “clean” with consistent varietal character across vintages–are relatively easy to produce in most temperate regions."

Braai, pronounced "B-rye" is a traditional South African open outdoor grill built specifically for the purpose of a social meeting, including the braaing of meat; a cookout. It is like an American cook out on steroids.  It last for hours and hours on end.  Braai Cabernet Sauvignon is the perfect pairing for Braai.  Its bold flavors is the type of wine you want with grilled meats and seafood.

Christina and I divide into these two great wines.  Pour yourself a glass and sip along with us.
