Lodali Nebbiolo d'Alba DOC is a classic expression of Piedmont's esteemed Nebbiolo grape, sourced exclusively from vineyards in the municipality of Pocapaglia, situated in the Roero area of the Langhe region. This wine presents a brilliant ruby red color with garnet reflections and offers a fine, persistent fragrance with delicate floral notes. On the palate, it is full and round, delivering a long and harmonious finish. Nebbiolo is renowned for its complexity and aging potential, often producing wines with pronounced tannins and acidity.
Lodali, located in Treiso, Piedmont, was established in 1939 by Giovanni Lodali. After Giovanni's passing, his wife Rita, known affectionately as "Mamma Rita" took over the winery's operations, demonstrating resilience and dedication to the family's winemaking legacy and owns & operates Lodali side by side with their son Walter Lodali. She is a driving force to continue the tradition, supporting Walter's efforts in having modernized the cellar and refined production techniques, while honoring the family's commitment to quality and tradition.
Be sure to use this comparison with our Nebbiolo selection from Mexico. Nebbiolo thrives in both Italy and Baja Mexico beautifully, but for different reasons. In Piedmont, Italy, Nebbiolo benefits from cool, foggy mornings and a long growing season, allowing it to develop its iconic structure, floral aromatics, and age-worthy complexity. It is a historically classic, true varietal expression. Meanwhile, in places such as Baja’s high-altitude valleys, warm days and cool nights help the grape ripen fully while preserving its acidity—producing a bolder, more fruit-forward expression that’s smooth, approachable, and uniquely reflective of Mexico’s sun-drenched terroir.
