Fairvalley Wines is one of the most meaningful bottles you can open. Black-owned and operated by the Fairvalley Workers Association — a group of employees from Fairview Wine and Cheese Estate in South Africa — this is a wine where every purchase directly supports the people who grew the grapes and made the wine. Founded in 1998 as a socio-economic empowerment venture, Fairvalley was built on the expertise of Black workers with decades of experience in viticulture, wine production, and packaging, with profits aimed at developing land and building homes for its members. The hands that work the soil feed the soul. This 2025 Western Cape Sauvignon Blanc is a vibrant, well-balanced expression of South African white wine at its most refreshing and accessible.

Wine Producer / Historical Notes
Fairvalley Wines was launched in 1998 with the support of Fairview Wine and Cheese Estate and the SA Land Affairs, established as a socio-economic empowerment venture to raise funds to build homes on land for its beneficiaries. The first wine — a Chenin Blanc — quickly sold out and set the pace for future growth. The Fairvalley Workers Association is made up of Black employees with long years of experience in grapes, wine production, and packaging, and it was only natural for them and for Fairview owner Charles Back to utilize their expertise and build a successful business. The profits from the business are aimed at helping the Association develop the Fairvalley land. The logo — two hands — and the slogan say it all: “The hands that work the soil feed the soul.” Fairvalley wines are produced under the same strict quality standards as Fairview Estate, ensuring no compromise on quality alongside the cooperative’s powerful social mission.
