Food Pairing
The Cuvée Gastronomie is designed specifically for the table — and its creamy texture, crisp acidity, and delicate pear, apple, and almond character make it one of the most food-versatile Champagnes you can pour. Pairs beautifully with high-end seafood: crab, lobster, oysters, and scallops. The Pinot Noir’s structure and roundness make it a wonderful companion for roasted chicken, pork tenderloin, and soft cheeses. The Chardonnay’s elegance and focus make it excellent alongside sushi, light pasta, and delicate appetizers. A natural for celebrations, holiday entertaining, and any occasion that calls for a Champagne that rises to the level of the food on the table. Serve well chilled at 45–48°F.
Occasion
This is your go-to prestige Champagne — the bottle for celebrations, holiday entertaining, special dinners, and gifting the Champagne lover who appreciates elegance, complexity, and the remarkable story of a cooperative that transformed the Champagne landscape. At this price point, it’s also the perfect bottle for elevating an everyday meal into something truly memorable.
Wine Producer / Historical Notes
The history of Nicolas Feuillatte begins with its visionary founder — a successful entrepreneur who made his first fortune in the 1960s as a major commercial coffee importer in New York before pivoting to Champagne vineyards and launching his eponymous brand in 1976 to share exclusive cuvées with high-society American friends, including Jackie Kennedy. In a parallel development, regional visionary Henri Macquart founded the Centre Viticole de Champagne in 1972 to help local winegrowers unite and secure fruit sales after a massive surplus harvest. In 1986, Feuillatte sold his booming brand to Macquart’s cooperative, forming the unified Centre Vinicole – Champagne Nicolas Feuillatte (CV-CNF). Despite being the youngest of the major historical Champagne houses, it has grown into a cooperative powerhouse that today unites over 82 distinct winemaking co-ops representing more than 4,500 individual grower-vineyards across the region — granting the house unprecedented access to premium fruit spanning 11 of the region’s 17 prestigious Grand Crus. From New York coffee importer to Jackie Kennedy’s Champagne of choice to one of the most powerful cooperatives in the region — the Nicolas Feuillatte story is as extraordinary as the wine itself.
