Some wines are made from grapes. This one is made from memory, community, and a grandfather’s fruit wine cellar in Keswick, Virginia. Tasha Durrett is a central Virginia native, WSET-certified wine educator, communications professional, and the founder of Black Women Who Wine — a highly impactful membership organization dedicated to increasing diversity, equity, and sisterhood for Black and brown women in the wine industry. Her winemaking is rooted in family legacy: her grandfather crafted custom fruit wines in Keswick, Virginia, and that tradition lives on in every bottle Tasha makes under her brand ZC Wine, historically known as Zora Chloe and now expanding under the Zora Court label. She is a storyteller and community builder first — and the wines she makes are exactly that: approachable, culture-forward, and deeply rooted in who she is and where she comes from.
The Garnet Fizz is Tasha’s most celebratory expression: a sparkling red blend of Petit Verdot and Merlot from Virginia’s Monticello AVA that pours an inky, deep ruby-purple with vibrant mousse and energetic bubbles. The nose opens with a rich bouquet of black plum, crushed blackberry, and dark cherry, accented by violet undertones and warm baking spice. On the palate, a bold and velvety entry delivers voluptuous dark plum and black cherry, where structured Petit Verdot seamlessly meets a silky Merlot mid-palate. Lively effervescence cuts beautifully through the wine’s natural richness, culminating in a crisp, refreshing finish layered with dark chocolate and lush ripe fruit. Serve very chilled. Then relax — this is joy and excitement, wrapped up in a poolside vacation with a soft, subtle breeze.

Food Pairing
The black plum, blackberry, dark cherry, baking spice, dark chocolate, and lively effervescence of this Virginia sparkling red make it one of the most festive and unexpectedly versatile bottles in the collection. Pairs beautifully with BBQ ribs, smoked brisket, and grilled lamb — the effervescence and bold fruit cut through rich, smoky preparations with ease. The dark chocolate and spice notes make it a wonderful match for charcuterie boards, aged hard cheeses, and anything with a savory-sweet edge. Also excellent alongside chocolate desserts, fruit tarts, and cheese plates at the end of a meal. A natural for summer celebrations, Premier Club selections, poolside entertaining, and any occasion that deserves a wine as bold, joyful, and unapologetically expressive as the woman who made it. Serve very chilled at 45–50°F.
