2020 Seis Soles Lodi Tempranillo, Central Coast, California

The wine opens with aromas of ripe blackberries, dark cherries, and a touch of plum, intertwined with earthy notes of leather, tobacco, and a hint of vanilla from oak aging. On the palate, it’s medium to full-bodied with a robust structure, showcasing flavors of dark fruit, black currant, and a subtle spice, that reflects the unique soil in the Potrero Vineyard in the Clements sub-A.V.A. of Lodi. The tannins are firm yet integrated, leading to a long, smooth finish with lingering notes of cocoa and espresso. This Tempranillo strikes a harmonious balance between vibrant fruitiness and a more nuanced, savory complexity, making it a versatile powerhouse.

Chris Rivera does not disappoint! As a winemaker and brand owner of Seis Soles, who's parents immigrated from central México where the Aztecs believed the world had been created and destroyed in four cycles, giving way to life under the fifth sun....he explains in his own words...
