Glenelly is a woman-owned estate in Stellenbosch with a history rooted in land granted in 1682 to French Huguenot François Villion.

In 2003, at age 78, May de Lencquesaing purchased the estate while she was the owner of Bordeaux’s Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande. She replaced existing fruit trees with vines, pursuing a vision shaped by the valley’s soils and microclimate, her family’s wine heritage, and a commitment to the local community.
