The wine displays a classic Cabernet Sauvignon profile, revealing a rich core of dark fruit like black cherry and black plum intertwined with mocha, mint, pencil lead, and distinct herbal nuances of eucalyptus, lavender, and violet. The palate unfolds with layers of blackberry and cassis supported by fine, powdery tannins, creating an expansive and robust structure.
The 2022 vintage in the Columbia Valley was defined by a cooler-than-average growing season with an extended autumn and late-season hang time, allowing the grapes to reach ideal physiological maturity and thick-skinned tannic ripeness well ahead of sugar accumulation. Following fermentation, the wine was gently matured for 22 months in 100% French oak barrels, of which 25% were brand new, enhancing its cellaring potential.

L'Ecole No. 41 is a historic, third-generation family-owned artisan winery that operates out of a beautifully restored 1915 schoolhouse in Frenchtown, just west of Walla Walla. Over the course of more than 40 years, the family has avoided corporate consolidation by focusing on direct, long-term partnerships with the oldest and most proven independent growers across the Columbia Valley. The remarkable depth of this wine comes from old vines with an average age of over 20 years, sourced from legendary, sustainably managed sites like Bacchus and Stone Tree, utilizing 100% manual harvesting and gentle gravity-assisted cellar transfers.
It pairs beautifully with a rosemary-crusted prime rib, wild game, rich mushroom risotto, or sharp, aged cheeses.
Varietal: 100% Cabernet Sauvignon
ABV: 14.5%
