An exquisite blend of traditional grapes perfectly captures the spice and flavor of Portugal's terroir in this Portuguese wine. Grapes in this blend are from their "Father Peter's Estate Vineyard".
Ripe raspberry and dark cherry fruit aromas lead to juicy, jammy black currant mingled with soft spices. Luxurious tannins offer a smooth mouthfeel, delicious taste, and a long finish. This wine delivers great complexity at an exceptional price.
Touriga Nacional, Alfrocheiro, Trincadeira create the perfect trio for this everyday and special occasion red. With enough finesse to enjoy without a food pairing, it complements your pork roast or braised lamb dish wonderfully. Truly, we are aligned with the Washington Post, naming it a Top 12 Best Bargain of the Year.
Between Lisbon and the Tagus river's left bank, this wine house has been managed by five generations of Portuguese women.
The Muge Estate Palace has a centuries-old history, dating back several years before it belonged to the Cadaval family. It was once inhabited by Queen Leonor of Austria (third wife of King Manuel I, sister of Emperor Charles V and mother of Infanta Maria), who lived here until 1530, when she married King Francis I of France. Only later, at the beginning of the 17th century, did the property, then belonging to the Counts of Odemira, come under the dominion of the House of Cadaval, when their daughter, Dona Maria de Faro, Countess of Odemira, married D. Nuno Álvares Pereira de Melo, 5th Count of Tentúgal, 4th Marquis of Ferreira and 1st Duke of Cadaval. The Cadaval family currently owns an estate totaling approximately 5,400 hectares and has been managed by women for five consecutive generations. Today, Teresa Schönborn, Countess of Schönborn and Wiesentheid, is the chair of the board of directors of this estate.
