He Was on the Today Show. We Carry His Wine. And Now We're Sharing His Recipes.
If you were watching the Today Show recently and found yourself yelling "Wait — I know that wine!" at your screen, you are absolutely one of us.
Donae Burston — founder of La Fête du Rosé, one of the most celebrated Black-owned wine brands in the world — made his Today Show debut showcasing his gorgeous Provence rosé and a lineup of wine cocktail recipes that had us reaching for our glasses at 9am. No shame. None whatsoever.
Here's the thing: we carry his wine. And we've been carrying it because Donae's story, his mission, and his wine are exactly what The Wine Concierge was built to celebrate.
So today, we're doing what we do best — curating the experience for you. We're breaking down who Donae is, why his wine belongs in your life, and sharing the cocktail recipes he featured on national television so you can recreate the magic at home.
First, Watch the Moment Yourself
Because some things you just have to see.
Donae Burston on the Today Show, showcasing La Fête du Rosé and his signature wine cocktail recipes.
Who Is Donae Burston?
Donae Burston is a Black entrepreneur, wine industry disruptor, and the founder of La Fête du Rosé — a brand born from a simple but radical idea: that rosé from the South of France should be accessible, joyful, and representative of everyone who loves it.
He launched La Fête du Rosé after years of working in the wine and spirits industry and noticing a glaring gap: Black consumers were one of the fastest-growing segments of wine drinkers, yet the faces behind the bottles rarely reflected that. So he did something about it.
La Fête — which translates to "the celebration" in French — is sourced from the legendary Côtes de Provence appellation in St. Tropez, France. It's made in partnership with some of the region's most respected winemakers, and it carries Donae's vision in every bottle: wine is for everyone, and celebration has no color.
His Today Show appearance wasn't just a TV segment. It was a moment. A Black man, on national television, holding a bottle of Provence rosé he built from the ground up, showing America how to drink it beautifully. We were here for every second of it.
The Wine: What's in the Bottle
2025 La Fête du Rosé — Côtes de Provence AOC, St. Tropez, France
This is the one. The flagship. The bottle Donae held up on the Today Show and the one that's been turning heads since it launched.
The 2025 vintage is a GSM-style blend — Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, Cinsault, and Ugni Blanc — sourced from the sun-drenched hillsides of St. Tropez. It's dry, elegant, and unmistakably Provençal: pale salmon in the glass, with notes of fresh strawberry, white peach, and a whisper of citrus zest on the finish.
At $25.99 a bottle, it's the kind of wine that feels like a splurge but drinks like a lifestyle. It's also a Black-owned, Black-produced wine — and that matters. Every bottle you buy is a vote for representation in an industry that has historically left Black producers out of the conversation.
ABV: 13% | Style: Dry Rosé | Region: Côtes de Provence, St. Tropez, France
The Cocktail Recipes (As Seen on the Today Show)
Donae didn't just bring wine to the Today Show — he brought vibes. Here are the cocktail recipes he featured, reimagined for your home bar using La Fête du Rosé as your base.

- 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled
- Juice of 1 lemon
- Fresh mint for garnish
Instructions:
- The night before: Pour the full bottle of rosé into a shallow baking dish and freeze until slushy (about 4–6 hours — it won't freeze solid due to the alcohol).

- Pour into chilled glasses, garnish with fresh mint and a strawberry slice.
- Serve immediately. Repeat as needed.
Pro tip from your concierge: Make a double batch. You'll thank us.

Don't Sleep on La Fête du Blanc
While the rosé gets all the spotlight, Donae's La Fête du Blanc deserves its own standing ovation — and it pairs beautifully with every cocktail recipe above as a crisp, food-friendly alternative.
The 2022 La Fête du Blanc is a white Provence blend featuring Rolle, Ugni Blanc, Colombard, Cinsault, Grenache, and Viognier. It's bright, aromatic, and dry — with notes of citrus blossom, green apple, and a long mineral finish. At $22.00, it's an absolute steal for a Côtes de Provence white.
Also BLACK OWNED. BLACK PRODUCED. Also extraordinary.
Why We Carry La Fête du Rosé
We get asked all the time: "How do you choose which wines to carry?"
The answer is always the same: mission, quality, and story — in that order.
La Fête du Rosé checks every box. Donae built something that didn't exist before he built it. He brought Black ownership to one of the most prestigious wine regions in the world. He made Provence rosé feel like a celebration for all of us — not just the people who've historically been invited to the table.
That's exactly what The Wine Concierge is here for. We find the wines that deserve to be in your glass, from the producers who deserve your support, and we bring them directly to you — curated, contextualized, and ready to enjoy.

Food Pairings for Your La Fête Moment
Whether you're sipping it straight or mixing it into one of Donae's cocktails, La Fête du Rosé plays beautifully with food. Here's what we recommend:
- Grilled salmon with lemon herb butter
- Shrimp tacos with mango slaw
- Charcuterie boards with prosciutto, brie, and honeycomb
- Summer salads with strawberries, goat cheese, and candied pecans
- Grilled peach flatbread with arugula and burrata
- Light pasta dishes — think lemon ricotta or a simple aglio e olio
The Blanc pairs especially well with oysters, grilled fish, and anything with a citrus or herb profile.
