The Summer Drop Is Here: Introducing the Shades of Vino Summer 2026 Wine Club Collection

Let's be honest. Summer doesn't need much help being great. But a curated box of wines — handpicked from Black-owned producers, women winemakers, and minority-led estates — arriving at your door? That's not just summer. That's a season.

We are beyond thrilled to announce the Shades of Vino Summer 2026 Wine Club Collection — and yes, we've been sitting on this one for a minute, trying very hard not to spoil it. The wait is over. The bottles are ready. And your glass is about to meet its new best friends.

What Is the Shades of Vino Wine Club?

If you're new here — welcome, and also, where have you been? The Shades of Vino Wine Club is The Wine Concierge's signature curated subscription experience. Every season, we do the deep work of sourcing, tasting, and vetting wines that check every box: exceptional quality, compelling stories, and producers who are often overlooked by the traditional wine world.

We're talking Black-owned estates building legacies one vintage at a time. Women winemakers who've been crafting world-class bottles for decades without a single feature in a mainstream wine magazine. Minority-led producers making wines that taste like culture, history, and pride poured into a glass.

That's the Shades of Vino promise. And Summer 2026 delivers — in a big way.

Why Summer 2026 Hits Different

Every season has a personality. Spring is hopeful. Fall is cozy. Winter is indulgent. But summer? Summer is unapologetic. It's the cookout playlist at full volume. It's the patio at golden hour. It's the dinner that starts at 7 PM and somehow ends at midnight because the conversation — and the wine — just kept flowing.

We curated this collection with that energy in mind. Think bright, food-friendly whites. Rosés that don't apologize for being delicious. Reds that are structured enough to be interesting but chill enough to drink on a Tuesday. Every bottle in this collection was chosen to meet you exactly where summer finds you.

And because we know you're not just drinking — you're hosting, gifting, celebrating, and discovering — we made sure every producer in this collection has a story worth telling at the table.

The Mission Behind the Collection

Here's what makes Summer 2026 extraordinary: out of 18 bottles, 13 come from Black-owned, women-owned, or minority-led producers. That's not a coincidence. That's curation with intention.

Four bottles are from Black-owned producers — including two that are both Black-owned and women-led. Nine bottles carry women-owned or woman winemaker credentials. This collection is a snapshot of what American wine looks like when the gatekeepers step aside and let excellence speak for itself.

Meet the Collection

The Sparklers (Because Summer Demands Bubbles)

We opened this collection with not one but three sparkling wines — because summer without bubbles is just warm weather.

The NV Browne Family "Do Epic Sh*t" Sparkling, New Mexico ($24.99) is exactly what it sounds like: a bottle with a mission statement. Made in the traditional Méthode Champenoise style, this New Mexico sparkler is bright, celebratory, and completely unapologetic. It's the wine you open when you want to set the tone for the evening.

Then there's the NV Treveri Sparkling Syrah, Columbia Valley, Washington ($26.00) — a sparkling red, which we know sounds like a plot twist, but trust us. Silky, slightly savory, and endlessly interesting. Serve it slightly chilled. Watch people's faces when they realize it's red and sparkling. You're welcome.

For our Premier members, the NV Zora Court Garnet Fizz Sparkling Red, Virginia ($42.99) is a Virginia-grown sparkling red from a Black-owned, women-led producer in Charlottesville's Monticello AVA — one of the most exciting wine regions on the East Coast. Elegant, unexpected, and deeply meaningful.

The Whites & Rosé (Your Patio Companions)

Summer whites should be refreshing without being boring. We found several that deliver on both counts — and most come with a story that's just as compelling as what's in the glass.

The 2023 Aesthetic Sauvignon Blanc, Napa Valley, California ($24.00) comes from a Black-owned, women-led producer making waves in Napa. Crisp, citrus-forward, and exactly what you want in your glass when the temperature climbs. Napa Sauvignon Blanc tends to be rounder and more textured than its New Zealand counterparts — this one is no exception, and the story behind it makes every sip more satisfying.

The 2025 Brooks Amycas White Field Blend, Willamette Valley, Oregon ($27.00) is a blend of five white varietals from a women-owned Oregon estate with one of the most moving stories in American wine. Brooks was kept alive by the winemaking community after founder Jimi Brooks passed unexpectedly in 2004 — and his sister Janie Brooks Heuck stepped up to lead the winery forward. Every bottle carries that spirit of resilience and love.

The 2024 L'Ecole Old Vines Chenin, Yakima Valley, Washington ($23.00) is a Chenin Blanc from old vines in Washington's Yakima Valley, from a female co-owned estate — honeyed, mineral, and deeply satisfying. If you've never had a Washington Chenin, this is your introduction.

For Premier members, the 2024 Joy Ting "Clair" Pinot Gris, Virginia ($28.00) is from a women-owned producer in Virginia's Monticello AVA — precise, aromatic, and quietly stunning. And the 2025 Lampley Chardonnay, Lake Michigan Shore AVA, Michigan ($28.00) comes from a Black-owned, women-owned producer proving that Michigan is serious wine country.

And then there's the 2024 Eastwood Rosé, Monticello AVA, Virginia ($26.00). A Virginia rosé for summer. Enough said.

The Reds (Yes, Even in Summer)

The right red is absolutely a summer wine — especially when it's lighter-bodied, slightly chilled, and made for food. And when it comes from producers who are rewriting the rules of American winemaking, it tastes even better.

The 2022 MNW "Free Gamay," Willamette Valley, Oregon ($28.50) is from a Black-owned producer in Oregon's Dundee Hills. Gamay — the grape behind Beaujolais — is juicy, low-tannin, and practically begs to be served with a charcuterie board or summer pasta. Chill it for 20 minutes. You'll thank us.

The 2022 Lakewood Cabernet Franc, Finger Lakes, New York ($22.00) comes from a women-owned winery in one of America's most underrated wine regions. Herbaceous, bright, and food-friendly — perfect for summer grilling.

The 2023 Chamisal San Luis Obispo Pinot Noir, Central Coast, California ($20.00) is from a women-owned Central Coast estate — silky, red-fruited, and easy to love.

The 2022 Carol Shelton Monga Zin, Cucamonga Valley, California ($32.00) is from legendary women-owned winemaker Carol Shelton, working with old-vine Zinfandel from the historic Lopez Vineyard. A reminder of why old-vine Zinfandel is one of America's greatest wine treasures.

The 2023 McPherson EVS Windblown Red, Texas High Plains AVA ($19.00) is Texas wine doing what Texas wine does best — being bold, unexpected, and completely its own thing.

For Premier members, the 2024 Brooks Willamette Pinot Noir, Eola-Amity Hills, Oregon ($33.99) is another stunning expression from the women-owned Brooks estate — structured, elegant, and worth every penny. And the 2023 Caduceus "Anubis," Willcox AVA, Arizona ($64.00) is the showstopper — a complex red blend from Arizona's high-elevation Willcox AVA that will make you stop mid-sip and say, "Wait. Arizona?"

The Wildcards (And We Mean That as the Highest Compliment)

The 2024 Bedell White Franc Blanc, North Fork, Long Island, New York ($26.00) is a Cabernet Franc vinified as a white wine — yes, you read that right. From one of Long Island's most respected estates, this is a conversation piece and a genuinely delicious summer white.

And then there's the NV Bobesa "Marigold" Honey Mead, Upper Marlboro, Maryland ($34.00). Bobesa is a Black-owned meadery right here in the DMV — Upper Marlboro, Prince George's County — making small-batch honey wines that are nothing like the syrupy, Renaissance-fair meads of your imagination. The Marigold is floral, nuanced, and genuinely beautiful. Premier exclusive. It will sell out. Consider yourself warned.

The Shades of Vino Promise

Every bottle in this collection was tasted, vetted, and chosen with intention. We look for quality first — always. But we also look for stories. For producers who are doing something meaningful, something different, something that deserves to be in your glass and on your table.

This is what curation looks like when it's done with care. Not just "here are 18 wines." But "here are 18 wines that mean something."

And as always — free shipping on 6 bottles or more. Because great wine should arrive at your door without a surcharge.
